Knights No Match for Savage Lions

Knights No Match for Savage Lions

The Birmingham Lions Junior team travelled to Farnham on Sunday 12th June to take on the ever successful Farnham Knights Junior Team.  The Knights were Semi Finalists last year and Finalists the year before.  So, the fixture could have been dubbed the ‘Battle of the Bridesmaids”.

The game turned out to be a one-sided affair with the Lions taking control from the first series, which saw WR Nathaniel Prince take the ball 20 yards into the end zone off a WR screen.  This was one of only two passing TD’s on the day with the Lions running game dominating the game accounting for 224 yards.

Touchdown Scorers were:

James Jones-Cross x 3

Emmanual Bawa x 2

Mykel Nixon x 1

Nathaniel Prince x 1

The Lions now stand at 3 – 0.

The next game is on Sunday 26th June vs Nottingham Caesars, KO 11am.

This game will be played as part of a double header at the Tamworth Phoenix vs Coventry Jets game (2:30pmKO)
