The Birmingham Lions are a five-time national championship winning American Football programme whose players range from Great Britain internationals to those who have never played the game before. Last season’s outing to Leeds for the BUCS Finals were the sixth in as many years for the team, maintaining their reputation as one of the premier university teams in the UK.

One of the greatest strengths of the Lions is their ability to identify raw talent and take players with no prior American Football experience and develop them into elite level athletes. This takes place through the combination of high level coaching and the Lions’ partnership with the University of Birmingham’s High Performance Centre. The team boasts high profile and strong media coverage, having caught the attention of Sky Sports and attracted thousands of spectators to the flagship match day event called xpLosION year-on-year.
